Polytechnic’s best student in painting and general arts in 2004 and holds a National Diploma in painting and general arts from Auchi Edo State. At Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, he earned his first and second degrees in fine and applied arts, with a focus on painting and sculpting, respectively.

Dotun received his training in a variety of art studios and is a certified hybrid metal sculptor and later on in his career, he was named the Best Artist of the Year by the Director General’s Award in maiden NYSC arts competition in 2009.

In addition to representing Nigeria at the first-ever scrap art exhibition in Qatar in 2019 and the Global Art Festival in Gujarat, India in 2020, he was featured in 2018 at the West Africa International Art Fair, “ARTX Lagos.” Dotun has taken part in four solo, twenty-nine group, and fourteen cooperative exhibits.

He has a strong desire to change people’s lives by using his artistic and leadership abilities to transform garbage into jewels and rubies from trash. Dotun conducts art workshops both domestically and abroad for professionals, students, NGOs, medical facilities, hospices, orphanages, rehabilitation centers, and educational institutions.

The sculpture is currently on display at @heydaraliyevcenter Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 till October 2025

In addition, Dotun has completed numerous enormous murals and massive sculptures in both Nigeria and the United States.

In the year, 2012 to 2018, he was employed as a curator II at the National Gallery of Arts, located in Oshogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Dotun currently works as a full-time studio experimentalist.His enormous contribution to the worldwide development of art has been highlighted in more than 40 local and international TV stations as well as newspaper publications. Al Jazeera and the New York Times are examples of this.
