Mo Abudu, is a pioneer in the field of film and television. She was born in London on September 11, 1964, and has built a successful career as a media titan, philanthropist, and former HR management consultant.

Mo Abudu’s move into the entertainment industry was motivated by a desire to tell Africa’s story authentically. She founded Ebony Life, Africa’s first global black entertainment network, which began broadcasting on July 1, 2013.

Her influence in the industry has prompted comparisons to Oprah Winfrey, earning her the titles “Africa’s Oprah” and “Nigerian Winfrey”.

Her achievements in the film industry are notable. As the head of EbonyLife Media, she has led the production of several hit movies such as “Fifty,” “The Wedding Party,” “Your Excellency,” and “Òlòtūré”.

Her first film as an executive producer was “Fifty,” and in 2016, she worked with The ELFIKE Collective to produce “The Wedding Party,” which set a new record in the Nigerian film industry for the highest grossing film.

Her contributions to Nigeria’s broadcasting industry have received international recognition. Forbes hailed her as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman,” and The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Global Television.”
